TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER 100

Temperature Controller 100 |
APPLICATION
To measure temperature using an external digital
temperature sensor and to control that temperature by switching a relay on or
off
DESCRIPTION
This is a universal ON/OFF temperature controller packaged in a 35mm wide DIN rail mount enclosure. The temperature can
be measured in one of 2 ways:
1) By using one of our new Digital input/output modules (Mod103 - Dig IO) configured to read an external temperature sensor (DS18B20 from Maxim/Dallas).
2) By using the TC74 sensor from Microchip and configuring the Modetron modules to output the I2C bus on the external terminals.
An external heater is controlled using a relay (Mod100 - Relay) which has 3A contacts
HARDWARE
1) Base100 (35mm) + PSU100 (220Vac) + Display100 (4 x 7 segment) + Mod103 (Digital Input/Output) + Mod100 (Relay) + DS18B20 sensor
2) Base100 (35mm) + PSU100 (220Vac) + Display100 (4 x 7 segment) + Mod100 (Relay) + TC74 sensor
SOFTWARE
V1.01)
* The relay can be forced ON/OFF by the user to give more external control
* To prevent abuse of the ON/OFF facility, a maximum temperature can now be set by the USER to prevent thermal runaway
* Can now also handle the TC74 sensor from Microchip (or any other I2C based sensor)
V1.00)
* Setpoint is stored in EEPROM and can be changed by the USER
* Relay is switched ON when the temperature is 1deg below setpoint and switched OFF when the temperature is 1deg above setpoint.
* Can handle DS18B20 sensor
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
Handle multiple sensors on a 1wire bus and then display an average temperature or individual temperatures
Insert a MOD101 (RS232) module instead of the relay module and read the temperatures on a PC
